Our Landscape Installation division handles approximately 20 landscape projects per year. Goodman's provides landscaping services in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Peoria, and Glendale.
David, a Phoenix native, began his career in the landscape service industry at 18 years old. With limited equipment stuffed in the back of his 1976 Malibu Station Wagon, and abundant energy, he started knocking on doors. Because of his drive and work ethic, it didn't take him long to develop a small base of regular clients. Parlaying his profits into used but newer and more efficient equipment, he was able to take on more customers. Encouraged by their positive feedback and the referrals he was receiving, he began to envision something more than a single man operation. With a plan for the future in hand, and assistance from his mother to obtain financing, he acquired his first new company vehicle, a one-ton flatbed truck.
That one car was only the beginning. It has grown to a fleet of 35 service vehicles with a team of landscape professionals prepared to take on the toughest yard and lawn challenges.David is the first to credit his early customers with teaching him about good customer service and pushing him to expand his knowledge and skills by requesting additional services beyond basic yard care. Due to lessons learned early on, he is not only grounded in good old-fashioned customer service, but has hands-on experience in all phases of landscape design, installation, and yard care.
Today, he backs that up with industry certifications and related certificates of completion. Never satisfied with the status quo, David continues to stay informed of the latest technologies, equipment, tools, and horticultural breakthroughs. His management and field teams participate in ongoing in-house training, ALCA (Arizona Landscape Contractors Association), AMWUA (Arizona Municipal Water Users Association), Desert Botanical Gardens Classes, Smartscape, and other industry-related classes.
